“I have lived near the Colorado Rockies for over half my life. I am filled with the beauty and grandeur of my surroundings, from the massive scale of mountain ranges and forests, to the smallest details of a tiny plant alongside a stream or mountain trail. Most of my artwork is created as a result of my love of this most inspiring landscape.

I try to capture the moods, textures, and colors of nature. I start with an overall design to catch the viewer’s eye, drawing him or her into the piece. I then add layers of stitching, paint, or appliquéd cloth, adding depth and richness when viewed closely. I want my artwork to be viewed both ways so the viewer sees the whole design at a distance, but comes in closely to examine and relate to the individual elements.”
